The Cheshnovsky Lab
Spectroscopy and Microscopy of Nano-objects

Our group focuses on the development of optical tools to image and to characterize nano-objects such as nanodots nanowires and 2D materials.

  • We develop super-resolution optical methods based on the nonlinear response of excited molecules.

  • We develop new modes of scattering methods, Multi Phase Interferometric Scattering,  to detect single protein molecules.

  • We use ultrafast lasers (with Prof. Haim Suchowski- Physics) to identify the ultra fast dynamics of nano rods and 2D layers.

  • We measure the absorption spectra of individual nanorods and corelate their spectra to structure, as measured by Transmission-Electron-Microscope.
